Fulbright Classroom Teacher Exchange

Travel Dates: 2011-12 School Year
Application Deadline: October 15, 2010

The Fulbright Teacher Exchange Program provides US teachers with opportunities to teach overseas – generally for a semester or academic year. In most cases, for US teachers, this program involves a direct exchange of teaching positions with a counterpart in another country teaching the same subject(s) at the same level. Salaries are paid by the home district (i.e., DCPS teachers would continue to be paid by DCPS in their overseas assignment, while visiting teachers would be paid by their own countries). Eligible applicants must be US citizens and full-time teachers, with at least 3 years teaching experience. This is a major application, and a highly prestigious honor for those selected. Due to the nature of this exchange program, the full support of your school administration is required. Any teacher interested in applying should discuss this with his/her principal first.

For further information and for application instructions, go to http://www.fulbrightteacherexchange.org/. If you have additional questions, e-mail fulbrightcte@aed.org or call one of the contact numbers on the Fulbright Teacher Exchange website.
