In 2009 during his visit to China, President Obama announced the "100,000 Strong" Initiative, an ambitious national effort to increase the number and diversity of Americans studying in China.  In May 2010 Secretary of State Clinton signed a formal people-to-people agreement in China to officially launch the Initiative.  And in January 2011 First Lady Michelle Obama delivered an inspiring call to action at Howard University.  Learn more about the "100,000 Strong" Initiative, and about CGEL's involvement in bringing "100,000 Strong" to DC public school students and educators..
